Aston Martin DB2
Aston Martin DB2 classic
The Aston Martin DB2 is a Grand Tourer that first appeared on the market in May 1950. The DB2 was available as a closed two-seat coupe which Aston Martin called a “sports saloon”. Later the DB2 was also sold as a drophead coupe. A total of 411 copies of the DB2 were produced.
The Aston Martin DB2 had an advanced 2.6 liter LAgonda 6 cylinder engine with double overhead camshaft, instead of its predecessor which had a straight four engine. Later on, an engine became available with a larger carburetor, pistons with a higher compression ratio, and the same intake camshaft as the exhaust. This was Aston Martin's first Vantage upgrade option. This upgrade increased the Aston Martin DB2 from its original 105hp to 125hp. The top speed also increased to 187.3 km / h and the DB2 could accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 11.2 seconds.
Of the 411 examples, the first 49 had a chromed front grille in three separate parts and large rectangular air vents in the fenders. The later cars had a one-piece grille with horizontal chrome slats without side vents. The bonnet of the DB2 consisted of one piece and was hinged at the front. The luggage compartment of the Aston Martin DB2 was located behind the front seats and could only be accessed from inside the car.
