The 3100 is a medium-duty pick-up from Chevrolet, and their first post-World War II redesign. The 3100 first appeared on the market in 1947 and was sold until 1955 when it was replaced by the Task Force series. The Chevrolet 3100 was the best-selling car in the United States at the time.

The Chevrolet 3100 was delivered until 1953 with a 3.5l I6 engine. After that it came with a 3.9l I6 or 4.3l I6. In 1954 there was also the choice to get an automatic gearbox, instead of the manual 3 or 4 gearbox.

Many adjustments have been made to the Chevrolet 3100 over the years. For example, in 1949 numbers were placed on the bonnet indicating the load capacity, telescopic shock absorbers were added in 1950 instead of the lever action type, In 1951 the doors received opening windows, and in 1954 significant changes were made to the design: The windshield was now a one-piece curved glass with no divider strip, a revised steering wheel was introduced, taillights became round instead of rectangular, and the grille changed to a crossbar design similar to today's Dodge truck grille.
