The Ford GT
The Ford GT is a supercar that was released in 2005 and started production in 2003. The Ford GT came on the market as a modern version of the GT40 that won the 24 hours of Le Mans 4 times in a row in the 1960s. A total of 4038 units of the Ford GT were produced, of which approximately 100 came to Europe.
The Ford GT has a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 5.4l V8 engine that produces 550 hp. This results in a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds. The top speed of the GT40 was 330 km/h. The car had a higher top speed in practice, but it was limited by a limiter at 330 km / h.
In 2016, a new model of the GT came on the market, because it was then 50 years ago that the GT40 won the 24 hours of Le Mans. This new variant of the GT had a different engine than its predecessor. The GT40 contains a twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine that produces 600 hp and accelerates to 100 km / h in 3.1 seconds. The 6-speed manual gearbox was also replaced. This was replaced by a seven-speed semi-automatic transmission.
