This fire truck was built by the German truck manufacturer Magirus GmbH, which has been building fire trucks since 1866. The Magirus company also invented the famous revolving ladder that is still used by the fire brigade nowadays. The Magirus-Deutz S3500 had the reputation of being technically very well developed and being able to operate under the toughest conditions. It is powered by an 8.0 ltr, 6-cylinder Deutz Diesel engine coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
