1953 Jaguar XK120
1953 was a big year in the production of the Jaguar XK series with the release of the popular Drop Head Coupe. The DHC was more like the Fixed-Head Coupe than the Roadster, with a well-tailored folding hood replacing the steel roof. The DHC featured a fixed-head style windscreen that needed the windows to be up in order to prevent air currents from whipping around the back of the occupants necks. Most buyers did not seem to be concerned with this. Throughout the 1953 production year, all 3 styles saw great success and continued to be one of the most popular luxury sports brands available.
