1964 Jaguar E Type
Making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, the Jaguar E Type has been hailed as the most beautiful car ever made. The 1964 Jaguar E Type is known for being the model-year in which the new XK engine was upgraded from 3.8 liter to 4.2 liter. These early Jaguar E Type models, commonly referred to as the Series 1, offer closed in headlamps and a smaller mouth air intake. The E Type was designed with the Jaguar D-Type racecar in mind. As gorgeous as the E Type is today, during the 60s this was a car was a -must have- reserved for only the most discerning purchasers.
Looking to purchase a classic Jaguar?
The 1964 Jaguar E Type addressed some of the problems associated with the previous models, such as inadequate rear brakes, overheating and uncomfortable seats. The 1964 Jaguar E Type now offered a 4.2 liter engine, an all-synchromesh gearbox and updated brakes.
